Arise Tvm Region Meeting started at 9.30 AM
Com. V Gopinath, Senior Vice President presided over the function.
Meeting started with silent homage to Okhi victims and the members of Arise and other Iobians who lost their life after the last meeting. Com. Murali Sanker recited the prayer.
Com: K R Ananthapadmanabhan, Organising Secretary, Arise, in his Welcome Speech expressed his concern on Non-settlement of our genuine demands. A file with copies of all relevant documents on insurance, lob Circulars and other papers was supplied to all members. He delivered his introductory speech and extended a warm welcome to all. New Members introduced themselves.
Inauguration:
Com. Abraham Shaji John, Senior Vice President, lOBOA and State Secretary, AIBOC inaugurated the meeting. He explained the present situation of Wage Negotiation talks and the campaign of AlBOC on FRDI Bill. On Issues of Retirees he revealed that IBA has decided to appoint an Acturian to asses the total liability if the demands of Retirees on Family Pension modification and 100% Neutralization to pre2002 retirees will be met. We hope the issues of Family Pension increase and the demands of pre 2002 retirees will be solved within 2 months since IBA shows some positive signs. CBPRO the
co-ordinated body of Pension organizations along with AIBOC has taken all steps to get both the issues solved at the earliest. The verdict of the case in the Supreme Court is expected before March end.
Sri Rajan, Sri. Chandran Pillai and Smt. Jameela together honored com. Abraham Shaji John who was reelected as Senior V. P. of IOBOA. Sri. P.Sekharankutty senor Comrade addressed the gathering.
Ananthapadmanabhan presented the details of Medical Insurance Scheme and cleared all doubts of members. He also presented the Report and Accounts which was passed unanimously.
Heath Issues and Talks:
In the afternoon session Sri. K.Vijayakumaran Nair, Chairman of Rajeswari Foundation, a voluntary organaisation talked on Palliative Care and Home Care. The Foundation adopted Karimadam Colony and doing palliative care activities in and around Trivandrum He requested voluntary help for the activities of the foundation.
Dr. Kalavathy M.C., Regional Care Centre Tvm presented the possibilities of early Cancer detection. She touched all aspects of Cancer, the Life style of Keralites and present food habits contribute for increasing Cancer affected in the state.
Smt Padma, and Smt. Vijayalakshmi together honored Dr. Kalavathy. Com. Girijasanker extended vote of thanks to Dr. Kalavathy.
TOUR PROGRAM
A Subcommittee (Tour programme) headed by Com Girijasanker with Coms. Govindan Potti, M S Rajagopal, Murali Sanker, Jameela, K G Das and Ajith Kumar as members was formed to workout the details of Tour Programme. One day tour will be conducted in Jan: 2018.
The meeting extended a Standing ovation to Sri.Ananthapadmanabhan on his unparalleled and dedicated Services for the retirees. The members prayed for his early recovery from the present illness.
