CO-ORDINATED EFFORTS OF CBPRO & AIBRF
Comrades,
As you are aware, our Apex bodies CBPRO & AIBRF are co-ordinating with each other and taking up the issues of Bank retirees with various authorities like IBA, Ministry of Financial Services, Govet. of India, UFBU, etc.
In the follow-up, they have taken up the issues of Effective date of Gratuity enhancement, abolition of GST on Medical Insurance of senior citizens, etc. We attach herewith the relevant letters on the subjects for your information. Also enclosed their latest combined circular No.2 dated 20.08.2018.
We also share herewith a landmark Judgement of Supreme Court on 14.08.2018 on Forfeiture of Gratuity under Payment of Gratuity Act is not automatic on dismissal from service. The Judgement was delivered by Justice Kurien Joseph and Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul in the case of Union of India and others Vs. Ajay Babu & Another (Civil Appeal No.8251 of 2018 arising out of SLP (Civil) No. 3852/2017).
