CALCULATION OF ARREARS – SUPREME COURT VERDICT IN FAVOUR OF AFFECTED RETIREES BETWEEN 1.4.1998 AND 31.10.2002
Comrades,
We are awaiting instructions from IBA to Banks for implementing the abovementioned Supreme Court Order.
Meanwhile, we are attaching herewith a calculation sheet prepared by one of our colleagues, giving the arrears amount receivable by the affected retirees between 1.4.1998 and 31.10.2002. You may just fill in the columns relating to Date of joining, Pension fixed and Pension w.e.f 1.5.2005 and you will know the total amount of arrears receivable with the statement of calculations given thereunder.

In regard to calculate arrears of pension @ 1684 CPI , kindly enlighten me whether it will be correct if I fill in the existing basic pension as on the date of retirement and also with effect from 01/05/2005 in the relevant boxes of the refix columns of the chart. Yes. It’s enough you fill in the date of retirement, Basic pension on retirement, i.e., at 1616 points in pension fixed column and the revised pension w.e.f 1.05.2005 in next column. no need to fill anything commutation will be same in both, since we will not get commutation now as 15 years are over.
